Tetovo is right by under Sar planina in the northwest of the country. As nice as this is, I wish we didn't have so many differences between our dialects. It just gives more reason for other neighboring countries to claim we're theirs or we're not a 'true' country.

What is the difference between 'kaj' 'kje' 'ke'? Are they just dialectal differences or not? We don't use any of these in my village so I'm very unfamiliar with them. Strange thing is, the villages that are closer to the downtown of Tetovo actually use 'ke'. I'm guessing many of those villages are a result of refugees from the 1920's of 'northern greece' Macedonia.

Dialects are richness of a language and its wonderfull that we have them. On the other side its good to have one formal language which all Macedonians could speak und understand...

Regarding my Bitolski dialect, basically covering the villages of Mogila, Beranci, Kukurecani, Srpci, Crno Buki, Ivanjevci, Vasherejca, Trap and others surrounding, this is how I would say it;

Koi ti e ukrade kolata? Treba d'odish i da mu kazhish na Politsiata. Ne mozham da vervam deka ti e ukradia kolata vo srede den! Ti treba prevoz do rabota ili do doma? Obavezno mora da se javish kai roditelite i da mu kazhish sho se sluchi. Ako vika po tebe tatkoti da ne se sekirash, kje razberi sho se sluche.

Is anyone familiar with other Macedonian dialects, particularly those of Solunsko, Vodensko??
While we're on the topic...the only dialects i have not heard of, as in songs or from people, are Bersko, Negusko, Sersko and those around the area...Razlogsko, Nevrokopsko...has anyone heard any of those?
Also the dialects from Albania? Mala Prespa and what other ones were there?

Also is there a Macedonian Korcha dialect?? Because i know Korcha is known in Macedonian as Goritsa and i think i heard somewhere that Georgi Pulevski (or someone else from Western Macedonia) wrote something about Macedonians in Goritsa...

I have pasted SoM's post into the first post of this thread, this way we'll have a running summary of all of the different versions. So Mods, when a new dialect is posted, it'd be great to paste it into the first post.

This may already have been an idea but i think we should begin a post of english words with our regional translation of those words. I'd like to learn other regional dialects as we're all Macedonian and I think its important we preserve all the dialects and to some extent become intellects in those dialects. For one it we won't create divisions between our dialects but will only feel closer with them as we learn them.

Just a thought, it could be a running post at the very top where we all add to it here and there with the hope of one day making a compilation for possible distribution.

Good idea Tetoac!

I think Risto the Great is working on a dictionary type thing for the Lerinsko dialect?

No .. no ... the Great Risto Stefov is working on that. I am working on my regal candidacy ... that is about it really.

Why don't you add your version too, as you can see it has multiple versions for the Bitola and Lerin, another Ohrid version would be handy also.
