Ethnic Albanians "as Greeks".

Good circumstantial evidence of that.

A bit more information on Ethnic Vlachs "as Greeks" and so on and so forth - and we begin to get the picture.

Well done.

personally i realised the modern greek notion of nation and who belonged to it was a crock of shit when i realised as a child that my grkoman cousins were not only accepted as pure greeks but were brainwashed inot believing it. if a people who were non greek by any defintion based on langage culture kin and history were greeks then who were these real greeks who were proposing such nonsense.

thanks TM excellent work.

Had Albania been absorbed into "Hellenism" perhaps Greece wouldn't have been so desperate to take over Macedonia in 1913 (they needed agricultural land, and needed it badly). Perhaps the powers in Bucharest would not have been so favourable to Greece and perhaps they would have given most of Macedonia to Serbia, after which Macedonia would have been independent due to the era of communism and minority rights.

Interesting case of "what could have been" isn't it?

Bushav, if this nightmare scenario happened I can guaranty you this 'hellenic superstate" would cover our borders, including kosovo. Then it would call itself the Byzantium II and look at was with Turkey, supported by the french and germans. :eek

Here's the thing, Greece does see itself as Byzantium II, hence their "you're Greek if you're orthodox" line.
