I'm with pelagonia on this one, Goce Delcev gets my vote, though Pitu Guli could have easily taken my vote too.

goce delchev has been over lionized in my opinion, i am not sure what his great contribution was.

somebody please inform me of his contribution, and how it was more important than the other leaders of vmro.

the idea that alexander did nothing for macedonia surely is a joke, maybe because we did not live in his time and did not experience the great wealth bought back by his soldiers and its impact on macedonias economy we can ignore and belittle it.

alexandar stand alone not only in macedonian but european history, his adventure had a wide ranging and deep impact on the direction of european and middle eastern history .

Osiris I am glad you have the balls to say something I think many people on this forum are afraid to admit in public about the over-lionizing of Goce Delcev. He was great there is no doubt. However why does he always stack above the rest of VMRO? I believe Nikola Karev was an extremely relevant hero for Macedonia,,,yet Goce Delcev overshadows him for some odd reason. I guess it is the manner in which Goce Delcev died that maybe strikes a deep chord with people. I don't know. He was great with words so maybe this is why people admired him. I'm not going to deny that he was a Macedonian hero,,,but why is he stacked above the rest of VMRO of that era???

thanks tm, in my opinion gotses elevation was more the result of the stalinist mindset that permeated all communist thinking in europe after world war 2, where one person the great all knowing leader like stalin like a tsar a god like figure stood above all others.

Aleksandrov (the forum member) had a good analysis of the accomplishments of various VMROvci in a post about a month ago (including Delcev). I'm having trouble finding it though. I can't remember what the topic was, but I said something like 'none of the mainstream VMROvci can even compare with aleksandrov (todor) and sarafov' and he responded with the analysis. The topic may have been about bulgaria, bugarasi, aleksandrov, or delcev...lol...

Not many days to go before it becomes official. Alexander is ahead (as predicted ) Goce is a close 2nd though. Surprisingly Misirkov is up there too tied for third with Filip.
