tm when i lived in athens i met one of the fix beer family, on further discussion it became apparent his surname was fuchs and his family had come out with otho the gay boy.

The Bavarians invented their new kingdom and then manufactured an Hellenic identity for their Christian subjects. It's not rocket science, they idolized the ancient Greeks so they repackaged the Arvanovlach to suit their purposes. The Arvanovlach, in turn, repackaged the various Ottoman Christians according to the same mold.
