Like many churches and temples in the Ottoman Empire, the Parthenon was used as a mosque. What's so strange?
The obsession with the antiquity the Greeks have is something the West is rensonsible for, undoubtedly. This obsession resulted in the neglection of the Greko-roman and christian tradition, which is the real tradition of the Greek people. This tradition has some ancient Greek elements (some people believe these elements are numerous and significant, some others believe they are not many) but on general it's something different. Ancient Greece lies too far in time to be seen as the unique or the basic "source" of the contemporary Greek tradition. Common sense.
I agree with most of your post. Too bad your politicians needed to politicize ancient history. If they didn't we wouldn't be on Maknews talking about Mosques in the Parthenon or Albanian culture in modern "greece" or the occupation of Macedonia.
