Some statistics from Kastoria or Kostur

Kostur
1903-1913=67
Slavic Names=67
Of course there are and the residents of Kostursko, Canada

Kastoria
1892-1913=434
Slavic Names=73

Total Names=501
Total Slavic (not Greek,Turkish,Jews ) names=140
20% as you said macnews

The date is before the Hellenized of the area. Of course and the majority of them (434) mention the name Kastoria and not Kostur(67).

All those Slavic names are only “Macedonians”?
Because there were in the region and others Slavic tribes or tribe that had similar names
also the given number I add and the hybrids Slav-Hellenic names!!!

In Kastoria:

10 refer to "Greece"
20 refer to "Bulgaria"
80 refer to "Macedonia"
The bulk refer to "Turkey"

Also, many of the Greek names listed for "Kastoria" I personally recognize as the same names of Macedonian families from Kastoria here in Toronto. It appears that the hellenization of Kostur had already begun by this time.

If I ever get the time I'll weed out the Greek sounding names between "Greeks" and "Macedonians"

Having completed the statistical analysis of the northern Macedonian regions on the Ellis Island records, I will now begin posting the same for the southern regions of Macedonia. Below are the numbers of self-declared ethnic Macedonians for the Macedonian city of Voden. Once again I will add emphasis that the actual numbers are not nearly as relevant as the people actually declaring as Macedonians, something according to our Greek friends that never should have occured considering a Macedonian ethnicity was apparently "non-existent".

Some Hellenistic or more accurately Hellenized Slavic names are found here, but this was a commonality in some multi-ethnic regions and these are insignificant compared to how many pure Slavic names are declared as ethnic Greeks. Some of these may also have been from mixed parents, nevertheless there are many more Bulgarians with Greekish names than there are Macedonians.

You have all seen now that there are people who clearly identify as ethnic Macedonians in the Ellis Island records, not only from Macedonia itself, but also from other regions such as Sofia in Bulgaria. Here are another two individuals that self-declared as ethnic Macedonians, this time from Kosovo;

Cotcho,Todar Kosovo, Turkey 1907 22
    First Name: Todar
    Last Name: Cotcho
    Ethnicity: Turkey, Macedonian
Last Place of Residence: Kosovo, Turkey
Date of Arrival: Dec 04, 1907
Age at Arrival: 22y Gender: M Marital Status: S
    Ship of Travel: Furnessia
    Port of Departure: Glasgow
    Manifest Line Number: 0026

Georghi,Georgi Christo Kosovo, Turkey 1907 26
    First Name: Georgi Christo
    Last Name: Georghi
    Ethnicity: Turkey, Macedonian
Last Place of Residence: Kosovo, Turkey
Date of Arrival: Dec 04, 1907
Age at Arrival: 26y Gender: M Marital Status: M
    Ship of Travel: Furnessia
    Port of Departure: Glasgow
    Manifest Line Number: 0027

I am no longer prepared to discuss this issue with Greeks any longer, as far as I am concerned, if you have people declaring as Macedonians even if they are not in Macedonia, then the answer is quite obvious and need not longer be debated.

A Macedonian ethnic identity did exist at the beginning of the 20th century as it did prior, fact. Case closed.

Self-declared ethnic Macedonians in Belgrade;

    First Name: Bozinoff
    Last Name: Crdan
    Ethnicity: Turkish/Macedonian
    Last Place of Residence: Belgrade
Date of Arrival: Nov 25, 1904
Age at Arrival: 21y Gender: M Marital Status: S
    Ship of Travel: Main
    Port of Departure: Bremen
    Manifest Line Number: 0003

Garril,Risto Belgrade 1904 31
    First Name: Risto
    Last Name: Garril
    Ethnicity: Turkish Macedonian
    Last Place of Residence: Belgrade
Date of Arrival: Dec 03, 1904
Age at Arrival: 31y Gender: M Marital Status: M
    Ship of Travel: La Touraine
    Port of Departure: Le Havre
    Manifest Line Number: 0004

Before any Greek starts about the Turkish part, it is in representation of where he is from, in this instance a Macedonian from the Turkish empire. The last time I checked Risto and Bozinoff were not Turkish names, thus obviously meaning that the Turkish part is in regards to their citizenship.

Macedonians from Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia and Bulgaria, recognize the truth for the truth shall set you free.

Akritas what are you trying to prove that we
1 do not exist and are figaments of Titos imagination
2 too stupid to know who or what we are.

What ever your intentions, it is not working we are not going to go away and pretend we are not human beings with all the rights that are afforded to others in this world.

If historical accuracy is your motivation why dont you realise that,

1 the debate about the ancients and the Slavs in the Blakans has just started.
2 the multi ethnic nature of modern Greek society and history has been proved beyond a shadow of doubt.

So again I ask what are you on about , may I suggest you preston and the rest of you hellenic heroes hook up and drown your sorrowsit it would be time better spent.

I love the picture...and let me tell you how Im gonna disprove this...

One You see the City, Gary Indiana?

Well that happens to be 15 mins from here, and where my dad use to live in the early 80's before he lived in Detriot for a few years.

One...there is no 3811 Illinois Street, or 2811 for extra measures....

Two...The Stamp fades where the nationality is posted..unlike the other side where you can still see it going up into where it says Sex....

Nice Try :)
