 Thank you Tsutsul thank you very much.

Now who were these "greeks" in Macedonia before the refugees flooded into Macedonia and underwent thorough hellenization? Well how about we look at a typical "greek" source of propaganda that they love quoting from.

The Vlachs are, in a sense, the pivot of the Macedonian question. They are not numerous in comparison
with the Bulgarians, or even with the Albanians. But without them the Greeks would cut a sorry figure. North of Castoria there is not so much as a single Greek village. It is only the Vlachs who give Hellenism a foothold. Withdraw them from their Greek alliance, and Greece must disappear from Macedonia. Group them with the Bulgarians, and the Slav supremacy will be unquestioned and unchallenged. This reasoning appealed to Roumania, and Margariti obtained the funds he demanded. Roumanian schools were opened in all the more important Vlach centres. Villages were bribed to declare themselves Roumanian, and priests here and there began to say Mass in Roumanian. The Turks were delighted. It meant one rift the more among the Christians. The Greeks naturally fought the new movement with their familiar weapons. No
calumny was too gross for poor Margariti himself, and probably he was no better than the average Levantine adventurer.
The Patriarch showed himself, as usual, more Greek than Christian. The idea of nominating a Vlach Bishop was
scouted, and the few priests who dared to say Mass in Roumanian were promptly excommunicated.

:lol Oh boze man what are these mongrels walking around in our Macedonia?

ADD TO THAT THE 53,056 Greeks that were sent to Macedonia from southern Greece during the period of 1913 - 1928

Image

Total Number of Refugees settled in Aegean Macedonia from 1913 - 1928: 618,199

Aegean Macedonia had a population of only 1,000,000 people in 1913,
subtract the number of Muslims that were sent to Turkey (350,000),
subtract the number of Macedonians that were sent to Bulgaria (100,000?),
subtract the number of Macedonians that left during the Greek Civil War (50,000?),
subtract the number of Macedonians that emigrated for a better life (?),
and then add the 618,199 refugees - the refugees make up over 50% of the population!
Are these the famous so-called "Greek Macedonians" of today?

Tsutsul, do the maths for all of Macedonia (not just Aegean Macedonia) and see which ethnic group forms the majority in all of the historically geographic and ethnographic region of Macedonia.

Please, lets not branch off to a different topic. This thread is for the prosfyges in Aegean Macedonia only.

The "southern greeks" were either albanian or vlach mixed with slav. So I still ask the baffeling question: HOW CAN THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY HAVE ANY RELATION TO THE ANCIENT HELLENES????

Fair enough.

In that case, can we find more specific information a to where they were settled? For example, the data above shows that in Lerinsko there were 19,154 settlers. Can we go into more detail on this and break it down into villages as well? Can we find such information?

I don't think we can find more thorough information than this.

Greece has not stopped there, even today the majority of immigrant workers that come into Greece are purposely sent to work in Aegean Macedonia to further mix the ethnic composition. For example, the town of Lerin today is half Albanian, but these Albanians weren't there before 1990, they came as migrant workers and were given work in Macedonian populated areas. Greece might think they are clever by sending Albanians to work in Macedonian populated areas, but with Albanian nationalism on the rise, Greece will be the one paying the price in the near future.

And just like the so-called "greeks" from Bitola (Monastiri as they call it), who were obviously Vlachs according to their own propaganda source, these Albanians will become hellenized to fit into society in order to feed their families. These mixed breeded muts have absolutely nothing to do with the ancient Hellenes. But they do have something in common with their Albanian brothers :lol I wonder if some modern "greeks" put on their albanian foustenella and do the Turkish Dervish twirl dance in their living rooms when no ones around :lol
