As far as registering to vote, once the election is called, there will be an announcement by the government whereby the people in the diaspora that want to vote will have to submit certain documents to prove their eligibility. These documents can be submitted online. I read this somewhere.

So this would probably involve proof of Macedonian citizenship, birth records, etc, etc.

I wonder how complicated that's going to be. So far I too have read all government statements that this will be done electronically (if the voter chooses) to help with the distance issues of citizens living far from embassies/consualtes. I received word from the nearest diplomatic establishment that they are awaiting "further instructions from the Republic of Macedonia regarding voter registration". There you have it ! I guess we are waiting for now .

Ok, now that the forum is back on track: Any thoughts on the diaspora vote?

Registration wasn't too hard (if you understand how to read Macedonian or follow directions)

I filled out 2 forms, scanned, and emailed them to the election board. Unfortunately I was out of town for a svadba and couldn't vote.

I filled out the forms (properly) and submitted them (properly) and at election day was told that I am not on the list. Same goes with the 3-4 people before me. The official told me this was happening for unknown reasons and I wasn't alone.
