The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) applauds Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom for his strong statement yesterday in support of Macedonia’s NATO and EU membership, in a speech before the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg.

I said when he was voted in that RoM should ensure they make every effort to use him and get your NGO's etc to use his teams to benefit your cause. He is a very big supporter of RoM.

UMD are you aware of the UK entourage of Prince Michael of Kent and a whole host of UK Businessmen, Entrepreneurs and Investors flying into Skopje to meet up with their RoM Counterparts next week?

It promises to lead to some very interesting opportunities, partnerships and investments from UK Companies and Businessmen
in RoM.

At long last things really seem to be picking up between RoM and the UK.

Yes, we are aware of the visit. We got invited to the Gala in honor of Prince Michael next week, but since we are in D.C., we won't be attending. UMD has had two delegation visits to the UK for meetings with UK policymakers, and we are pleased relations are improving significantly.

The main goal should be investing and promoting a prosperous Macedonia. Once that happens, EU/NATO support will drop, just like it has in croatia. We don't need to be part of any club if we can take care of ourselves, and we are kidding ourselves if we think the eu/nato will take care of us.
