Today's Modern Greeks claim they have some connection to the ancient Greeks and that their ancestors have been 'Greek' forever and a day -- yet they don't even know the basic history of the area from two or three generations ago.

What is funny is, skimming through Toronto's Canadian-Macedonian phone directory.......half of the surnames end in os, is, ou, as, etc. Do the math & apparently there are more ethnic Macedonians in Toronto alone then there are in Greece by their 'generous' estimations. Yet many of these ethnic Maks have relatives in Greece.........
