the word "VELIKI" is serbian and not macedonian...we in macedonia say GOLEM

1) Macedonians belong to the "older" Mediterranean substratum...
2) Macedonians are not related with geographically close Greeks, who do not belong to the "older" Mediterranenan substratum...

As far as i know golem means big or tall, veliki means more powerfull or great. I might be wrong but i have never heard him refered to as Aleksandar Golemiot.
I have always heard Aleksandar Makedonski, or Aleksandar Veliki like the new airport in skopje.
As far as i know veliki is universal in all slavic languages macedonian, serbian, bulgarian, russian ect..

Da be :) chist makedonec!

To tell you the truth I've always heard him referred to as "Aleksandar Makedonski", veliki not so much just in more formal situations. In Macedonia history books he is usually referred to as Aleksandar Veiki. Golemiot and Veliki are similar words, Veliki is just used in more formal situations like the air port.

dimko veliki is not a serbian word. In Macedonia the word golem is over used to describe everything from big and tall to Greatness, which you can not do, as they are not the same.

Lastly, veliki is not Serbian.

Nikogas ne mislev deka onoa sto so vekovi bese prifateno kako ochebijna vistina i fakt zazhiveena vo dlabokite koreni na Makedonskata istorija i makedonskiot duh i tradicija, oddednas tebe denes ke ti pretstavuva problem. Za mene Aleksandar Makedonski/Veliki/Golem ima isto znachenje.
Eve Wikipedia na makedonski kade sto pishuva za Veliki i Makedonski:
