I want to point out Adamantios Korais who is the father of Katharevousa or the 'pure' language is on that list. You can read more on Korais on the "Greece Without Columns" thread on page's 48-49.
My my my this is getting real interesting. Don't :-(( modern "greeks". Wipe those tears away with your Albanian fustenellas and sit on the floor cross legged and smoke a shisha like your forefathers used to :lol

It is a good one TM,

I know of this one:

Quote:
As recently as the 19th century the official view of Greek history was that "the Greek Penisula had been struggling for independence from foreign domination ever since the ancient Greeks had been conquered by the Macedonian armies in 338 BC"

Taken from:
Anna Triandafyllidou, "National identity and the Other", Ethnic and racial studies, Vol 21, No 4, July 1998, p. 605

TM, make sure all these pages that you have scanned and on the other threads end up in the archive. This is good stuff.

TrueMacedonian,

Another good post. I think I speak for everyone when I say that your posts as of late have been spot on. The shear effort of research and scanning is incredible. Verily, you are a True Macedonian...and we're fortunate to have you.

It is not surprising to read that prominent 19th century Greeks did not believe that ancient Macedonians were pure Hellenes. Today, anyone who starts with the premise that the ancient Macedonians were anything but Greek are excommunicated.

"Greek Macedonians," as they like to be called, are nothing but imposters from Asia Minor.

Keep up the good work, sir. ;)
