Can you provide evidence of forced assimilation ?
100 years later your off springs will have no connections to their Macedonian heritage let alone 700 years.

How can I tell millions of Turks today that they are Greeks or from Albanian stock.
Jannisaries are in the millions.
The Treaty of Prezvin saw hundreds of thousands of muslim Albanians converted to Turks.
Turks also got plenty of Janissaries from the Serbian, Macedonian, Bulgarian and Romanian populations. One could be taken as a janissary by force, or sometimes it could be voluntary with the blessing of the young man's family who desired a better life for their son.

The Ottomans had no interest in ethnicity as religious identity was paramount, an attitude which carried over to the Christian population, especially in rural areas. Janissaries became known as the most fanatical Muslims in the Ottoman Empire, so fanatical and independent-minded in fact that they became a danger to the Sultan and had to be destroyed as an active force in 1826.

I'll agree the Arvanites weren't as brutally assimilated as the Macedonians, but you can forget the idea that the Arvanites and Epirotes were Greek. That's wishful thinking. There is infinitely more Albanian blood than ancient Greek blood flowing through the veins of today's Modern Greeks.

According to the fact that today modern "greece's" national costume is the Albanian fustenella. What other customs were taken from this race of people and made to be seen as 'hellenic' we surely will never know.

according to greeks the whole of the balkans ethnic character except for greece has changed dramitically from the ancient. there are no more ancient macedonian thracians illyrians etc etc left. greece on the other hand is still the land of the hellenes even the many invaders from the slavs to the albanians were really helllenes returning home.

i dont know how they can maintain this line with a straight even indignant face.

the reality is that even in ancient times the hellenes were a minority in hellas the mjaority being the enslaved and assimilated native pelasgians and others brought to hellas as slaves.

in roman times the mix became even more confused and non hellenic, and things only got worse right up to the welcome of the christian prosfigi from asia.

get over it grkos you are as much a mongrel breed as anyone and have as much claim to the leagcy of hellas rome and macedonia as the turks of today.

Considering that the Philiki Eteria (the 'greek' secret society during the time of 'greek' independence) used Albanian words as well as Turkish words in its society is very telling of who and what this "hellenic" nation is. The bogus country south of Macedonia is a parasite which incorporates things into its false "customs" and false "culture".

This Frankenstein Republic exists on lies and a parasitic nature to appropriate histories of the region which the Frankenstein Republic will call theirs exclusively. These Albanians and Vlach and Slavs and God knows whatever else that lurks in that country make up the ugly Frankenstein stiched and bolted at the neck.

Believe whatever turns your crank my friend, but you don't fool us for a second.

Know one is trying to fool anyone here.

Facts.

There was never forced assimilation done to any Arvanites. This was strictly assimilation. Like my children and yours will eventually be Canadians. This was 700 years ago.

Arvanites emigrated mostly from southern Albania (Epirus) a heavily populated Greek area.

Are you sure about those "heavily populated 'greeks'" in Epirus Fatso? Ok read what Nicholas Hammond says about this.

These fortress like houses that Hammond talks about which Albanians built are still very common today and very evident in the Albanian areas of Macedonia. They have blood fueds going back for generations and generations, some Albanians never go outside their home because they have a death warrant hanging over them.
