Thanks to all, for the support on this project, I will tell my Macedonian friends. And we have the ways to get the Dictionary to be in every Macedonian home in Egejska, even if we have to sell it hand in hand, in each city and village.

vodenka,

Perhaps we can make it freely available.

If we can work how how many copies are required and what it would cost for printing them, and then for distribution to every Macedonian home in Egejska - we may be able to come up with the funds for such projects.

Why can't we just put it online and let people print it as needs be. That should be another option and it will be harder for the Greek government to confiscate it.

Oh it would definitely be online, just like the ABECEDAR is.
But realistically how many people will that reach?

For your information the Abecedar sold more than 1,500 copies and was sold also in bookstores. The amazing thing is that Traianos Passois book (he is from Pozhar) sold more than 1,000 copies, with no publicity at all. He could not give the book in bookstores because he printed it himself and he did not have any invoice for it (he could not find any publishing house in Greece willing to publish his book). It was a big success and now he will reprint it because people ask for it, even in Athens!
The dictionary is something that all the Macedonians would like to have, even the grekomans!

Any books or resources that can be put up here on MakNews should be here as well.

We have good penetration within Greece.

Bravo Vodenka

I know there is a book on sale there called "The Forbidden Language". Have you heard of it? It is the story written by a professor in Athens about how he was encouraged to move away from his Macedonian heritage and now he tells of his pain and sorrow. It would be great to know how many copies this may have sold within Greece.

From the village of P’pezhani, Tashko Popov, Dimitar Popov-Skenderov and Todor Trpenov were beaten and sentenced to 12 years prison. Pavle Mevchev and Atanas Popov from Vrbeni and Boreshnica joined them in early 1927, they were soon after transferred to Kozhani and executed. As they were leaving Lerin they were heard to shout "With our death, Macedonia will not be lost. Our blood will run, but other Macedonians will rise from it".

Would we look at getting such a book printed within Greece?
