I think you got it wrong here.
There were ethnic Greeks in Macedonia. They mainly resided in the cities (Solun, Ber, Ser, Drama, Kozani, Katerini, Kavala). The whole area around Katerini was inhabited by Greek speaking christian orthodox people, Vlachs and Turks.
Suhin, just so I understand you more clearly, what do you mean by 'ethnic Greeks' here.
I refer to the mid 19th cebtury. By saying ethnic Greeks I mean Greek speaking Orthodox people.
There were also some Greek speaking Muslims.
To me language is a sign of origin.

Yes, that's correct "meaning full of Bulgarians" which is
MORE Greek bull shit and lies on their part (not you).
1)So the Greeks invented the alphabet yet they can't say C or B (Tzeeseburger i Vulgari)
Kajlari makes me very PROUD to be Macedonian, they speak it to this day !!

:clap
2)Who else speaks perfect Makedonski in Greece ? Majari (sp)
1)Greek language does have the sounds c and b. It doesn’t have letters to represent them.
2)Mainly Lerinsko, Vodensko, Moglensko, Kostursko.
But there are still people talking Macedonian (most of them are olf people) in the villages of Kajlar/Ptolemaida (the city itself was mainly inhabited by Turkish people), villages of Solunsko(Kufalovo/Kufalia, Ajvatovo/Liti, Visoka/Osa, Suho/Sohos and some others). A few villages in Ser/Serres, and some more in Drama (Plevna/Petrusa is one for sure).

Q. WHY DID THE GREEK GOVERNMENT TRY TO CHANGE MY VILLAGE NAME ? THEY WERE THE ONES WHO CHANGED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. THE FUNNY THING HERE IS THAT IT WAS THE GRKOMANI WHO SAID "OXI" TO THE GOVERNMENT. THEY SAID OK LETS CALL IT NEVOLENI AGAIN .. THESE ARE PRO GREEK PEOPLE.
Do you mean that the Greek government tried to change the name of your village back to Nevoleni and the Grkmani protested against it?
When did this took place?
PS. Buf is called now Akritas/Bufi (Ακρίτας/Μπούφι).
Αll the villages are still called by their old names by both Dopii and Prosfyges.
