I think that I used a sufficient amount of non-literary Macedonian words in my dialect samples.

I love your use of "grei" as in "go vikaf sinmi da grei natre" -- i nie isto taka lafime.

Do you guys use the word "skorni' for boots?

We say Grei in Egri..

It's interesting how Egri and Grei are just a rearrangement of letters.

I have relatives in Egri - Bufchani relatives, so it sort of goes with this thread! ;)

Bufsko, great job on posting the dialect, its like I'm listening to myself :support

Thanks mplf1, much appreciated :)
I am thankful to my parents for speaking to me in Macedonian. I almost feel sorry for people who only know 1 language.

Bufsko,

Keep on posting samples. If you can get some of your parents to tell a longer story, nice and slow, that would be good too. This is how we document our language, and your dialects (Aegean) are endangered. They face exctinction at the domicile area, so we can and we need to do whatever we can to preserve them now. In ten years, it may be too late.

I don't think that my parents would want their voices to be recorded and posted on the internet. Besides, like I said before, they speak a mixture of 85% Macedonian, and 15% English.
Eg: "Ajde da oime na shtoro (the store). Sidewalk-o e p'ln so pcojsani mui. Treba da o izvaam garabidzh-o." Old people in their 70's and 80's (who don't speak a lot of English) would be the best candidates for getting a good recording. I only have one living grandparent, but he is difficult to understand (nema zabi). I can only give written and rehearsed short samples of my dialect. I will do another one shortly...but I am running out of material ;)

Actually for a while now I have wanted to record my Dad(just turned 70 in May, 52 yrs in Canada), speaks English fine, but wanted to have his Klabuf-Lerin dialect recorded, unfortunately he is going through a tough patch at the moment, when he recovers in a few months, I am definitely going to get it done :macedonia

Lillian Petroff began recording Macedonian stories and histories - in their native dialects, through the seventies and eighties. The Historical Society has those recordings.

I wish your Dad a speedy recovery and it would be interesting to hear how your Father speaks :)
By the way, I noticed that we never pronounce the letter "H" in my dialect. Eg: Hristos, Hrana = Ristos, Rana. I can't think of a single word that we pronounce the "H" sound. The only exception is "Ohrid".
