Governor Ryan,
I am absolutely appalled by your state's adoption of Resolution
92 SR0446. To call into question a state's (Macedonia) sovereignty
and its very existence is quite a presumptive task for the state
of Illinois.
Honestly, Governor, we do not need your resolution nor Mr. Papadapoulos
to trace back our ancient roots and tell us that Macedonia is Greece.
All I need to know is that my grandfather was Macedonian (not Greek)
and spoke Macedonian (not Greek) as his grandfather was Macedonian
(not Greek) and spoke Macedonian (not Greek) as his grandfather
before him.
If the state of Illinois would like to conduct an investigation
into the cultural/historical identity of Macedonians we would be
more than glad to have you actually come and visit the country of
which you are so highly knowledgeable.
With the precedent you have set in the great state of Illinois,
I shall now ask my Governor to adopt a resolution stating that the
Greeks are actually descendants of Sub-Saharan Africans (at least
this is true).
Maybe you can give me some insight as to how this can be done.
Thanks for the interesting resolution, I will definitely share
this with my children to ensure they have learned the "proper
version" of history.
Sincerely,
Emilija Kolevski
Arizona
