Letter to the New Hampshire Legislature
by Jim Zafiropoulos
March 17, 2003
To the Governor of the State of New Hampshire, The
Honorable Craig Benson, Senators and Members of the House of Representatives
of the State of New Hampshire.
Regarding, the state of New Hampshire general assembly resolution
LSR 1169.
Ladies and Gentlemen:
How does it feel to have the New Hampshire legislature misused
by a Greek-American lobby group?
I am writing regarding the misleading resolution, LSR1169, which
purports to recognize that the ancient Macedonians were Hellenes.
This is a racist resolution proposed by Sen. Ted Gatsas and Sen.
Lou D' Allesandro. I am sure New Hampshire legislators will have
nothing to do with it.
Such racist propaganda from the so-called Pan Macedonian Association,
who is the real perpetrator behind this whole thing, is nothing
unusual. It is obvious this racist group dislikes Macedonians yet
they have the gall to call themselves the "Pan-Macedonian" Association." This
is very hypocritical.
The good people of New Hampshire elected you to serve them, not
to promote Greek propaganda from thousands of miles away and thousand
of years ago. Please do not sign something you don't understand.
The issue as to whether Macedonians were Hellenes belongs with
Historians. It is not an issue to be addressed by politicians who
are more concerned with lobbyists and voters than historical accuracy.
Greeks should be more concerned with their dismal human rights
record rather than their ridiculous claim to racial
purity.
This misleading resolution, recognizing that the ancient Macedonians
were Hellenes, is nothing more than "My Big Fat Greek Lie" and
must be rejected.
Thank you,
Jim Zafiropoulos

Speaker of the House: Gene Chandller
Senator Theodor Gatsas
Senator Lou D'Allesandro
